Elbows has made a big mark in the US pro scene in the past two years. Still considered an amateur team, they're racing against the big name US pro teams and holding there own thus far.

As the 2012 race season quickly approaches...
Trying to lose weight and/or decrease BF while also introducing a cardiovascular performance enhancing routine can be tricky. You walk a fine line when trying to improve cardiovascular fitness and drop weight and/or body fat simultaneously. To drop weight you must put yourself in a caloric deficit by way of your calorie consumption, or lack there of. The low calorie dieting can be counter-productive to improving fitness if not done right. To improve cardiovascular fitness and performance one must properly recover from intense endurance workouts. Nutrition plays a major role in this. Don't be afraid of carbohydrates, especially before, during, and after hard workouts. The body primarily burns carbohydrate as fuel during cardiovascular activity, especially interval type training. We must restore our glycogen stores (carbohydrates) throughout and after these workout. When done right your body fat and weight will come down and your cardiovascular fitness and performance will improve.

If road riding is your thing, set out for an easy 15-30 mile ride that rolls along side the beautiful Pacific Coast Highway. If your more advanced and want a 50-80 mile ride that visits the foothills of the Saddleback Mountains and finishes along the coast highway, your in good company here.
Rides vary depending on individuals fitness, skill levels, and requests.

Sorry I have been out of the loop as far as updating you all on my training and race plans. Here is a short recap.
I plan to race on La Grange race team, however three of the guys (very strong and experienced guys) have left to ride for a new team consisting of the three of them sponsored by Rock n Road Cyclery. Brand and Kyle Gritters and Mike Herdman. They had a fourth spot for me, but for a couple of reasons I decided not to join them. One being I didn't want to stiff the La Grange Men's 1/2 race director. Stu has been an awesome guy and I committed to him last year to race for them. I knew that the possibility of some of the guys leaving existed. As it is now, I believe there will be only 3 or 4 of us capable being present at the end of a cat 1/2 race. At least I have some financial support and some team mates this upcoming 2012 season as opposed to 2011. I am grateful for the support and I believe I do the right thing and my opportunity will come.
I did the Nov 2011 12hours of Temecula. Goal was to ride solo for 12hours and complete 11 laps.
We are the books we read and the people we surround ourselves by. Positive thought produce positive results. You thoughts determine how you feel, how you feel determine what you do(or won't do), and what we do determines our results. Don't allow you surrounding culture to be anything less that positive.
