I took 3-4 wks off from racing the last wk in June and first few wks in July. I kept my volume high commuting to work, riding with the Cycling group at the gym, and just riding for the fun of it. My hours on the bike were actually 5-9 hours higher during those wks, yet I still felt the rest. It was a much needed mental and physical break. Over the past two wk ends getting the intensity back in the legs and high end power coming back has felt great. With proper rest and some good racing/training I will be flying in the nxt few wks. There are only a few more races left for the season here. I looking forward to them and to getting some of my best results of the season, especially with the help of the new team.
